A highly-skilled and respected scientist with over 13 years’ experience in the field of forensics, Marie joined AlphaBiolabs in 2022 and oversees the company’s growing toxicology team.

As Head of Toxicology, Marie’s day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining the highest quality testing standards for toxicology and further enhancing AlphaBiolabs’ drug and alcohol testing services for the legal sector, members of the public, and the workplace sector.

Helen Dent is Professor of Clinical and Forensic Psychology and Programme Director of the Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Staffordshire University. She is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She works one day a week as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in a specialist NHS team for looked after children. She has previous experience of working clinically in various services for both adults and children.

Helen’s research focus is mostly with vulnerable children & young people. She currently supervises a number of Doctoral research projects and is jointly conducting research into the perceived causes of attrition in cases involving child victims.
She has considerable experience acting as an Expert Witness in cases involving child protection issues, including the assessment of children’s allegations made during ‘ABE’ interviews.
